[archie grunts in agreement and gets up, stumbling away.

fortunately, he doesn't think of the stove, instead coming back with a bag of kale chips he tosses at merle.]

[ Merle rips open a bag and upends it over his mouth, dumping a mountain of kale chips into his waiting maw. ]

[he laughs his ass off when merle devours the packet, almost actually falling off the couch with how hard he's laughing.]

You horrible being! [archie chokes out between laughs.] What was that?!

THAT'S OK YOU FOUND IT ALL IS GOOD

[ Sorry, Archie, Merle's too busy choking to death on kale chips... And making a mess on your sofa. ]

[he watches this for a couple of moments, then realises he could do something to help. archie reaches over and rolls merle over.

[ Merle coughs and sputters and makes even more of a mess, but eventually he recovers his breath and just starts laughing. ]

Ahahahaha-- Hey! Those were good! You got any more?

Last bag, [he says with a shrug.

[ Merle just busies himself with picking up the spilled crumbs. ]

Oh, hey, yeah. I braid 'em in! Could probably do the same for you if you want.

[he rubs his beard, like he's got them in there already.]

W--wait. Is mine long enough?

[ This is the part where Merle scrambles over to Archie, grabs his face with both hands, turning his head this way and that to examine him from different angles, running his fingers appraisingly through Archie's beard.

Finally, seeming satisfied, he lets go. ]

Any beard is long enough if you try hard!

[he doesn't bother to try and fight this, just lets merle move him around like a doll. archie does puff his cheeks up lightly, though.]

D...Is that just a nice way of sayin' mine isn't long enough???

[he whines, like a kid whining about a parent embarrassing them. he slaps at merle's cheeks lightly, trying to push him off.]
